Help for Children with Disabilities and Other Special Needs

Developmental Disability Division of the Oklahoma Department Services, DDSD provides services to persons ages 3 and older who have an intellectual disability (IQ of 70 or below).  Persons served may also have other developmental or physical disabilities.

SoonerStart

Provides developmental help for children ages 0 to 3. SoonerStart is Oklahoma's early intervention program designed to meet the needs of infants and toddlers with disabilities and developmental delays. The program is a joint effort of the Oklahoma departments of Education, Human Services, Health, Mental Health Services, the Commission on Children and Youth and the Oklahoma Health Care Authority. The Oklahoma State Department of Education is the lead agency.

Oklahoma Family Network

"Putting the Pieces Together for Oklahoma Families", the Oklahoma Family Network (OFN) is Oklahoma's parent to parent resource for those who are raising children with special health or disability needs.  The OFN offers a mentoring program to aid such parents through parent-to-parent mentoring. Learn about resources and share experiences with other parents of children with these special needs.
